Maintenance & Service Programs

Weekly Cleaning and Maintenance:

• Vacuum/brush/skim pool and clean tile.
• Test water for proper levels of: Chlorine, pH, Alkalinity, Calcium Hardness, Cyanuric Acid, Copper, Iron & other metals. 
• Chart chemical readings at site. 
• Backwash/clean filter. 
• Troubleshoot equipment.
• Empty deck skimmer and pump strainer baskets
• Add environmentally-safe enzymes to inhibit growth of algae and reduce chlorine usage.
• Add sequestering agents to help prevent staining.
• Add makeup water.
• Rinse deck and straighten deck furniture.

Hastings Water Works provides all of these services at an agreed-to single weekly service rate. All services are provided by insured service technicians certified to a minimum Tech I level. Emergency 24-hour service response is available to program subscribers.

Pool Openings:

Open Procedures include:

• Drain winter cover – if needed.
• Balance water chemistry.
• Remove debris from cover – if needed.
• Hook up and start all equipment.
• Remove, clean, and store cover on your property.
• Rinse deck of debris. (NOT pressure wash).
• Vacuum, skim and clean pool.
• Clean tile at water line.
• Full assessment and consultation of pool needs and issues with owner.

Pool Closings:

Closing Procedures include:

• Complete vacuum and skimming of pool
• Test water chemistry and balance accordingly for:
• Chlorine, pH, Total Alkalinity, Calcium Hardness
• Drain pool to proper winter water level.
• Drain and plug all plumbing lines and add biodegradable, non-toxic, environmentally safe antifreeze.
• Drain all filtration, heating and misc. related pool equipment.
• Remove and store when applicable all diving boards, solar covers, ladders, steps, skimmer baskets and misc. related items.
• Install and secure winter cover.

Hastings Water Works shall utilize any chemicals provided by client. Additional chemicals shall be provided by and invoiced, according to Hastings Water Works standards. Further, Hastings Water Works shall invoice client for any additional winterizing plugs, chlorine floaters, water bags and/or misc. items that may be needed.
